This Sunday, August 29th, Pro Carry USA had the amazing opportunity to launch our new online permit to carry course with a bang! We sponsored radio icon Mark Walters from Armed American Radio. After an afternoon event attended by the radio personality and also by Michael Martin, author of Minnesota Permit to Carry a Firearm Fundamentals.
.
The exciting day with Mark was concluded by a personal interview on his internationally acclaimed show. The interview focused mainly on our new permit to carry online course. Jeremiah Sandahl, our head instructor explained that no longer do people need to come for the 6 hours of classroom time. With our online permit to carry course, we’ve made it easy for the average hard-working individual to take the class at home and just meet us at the range. Mark pointed out that out of state residents will find this especially helpful.
Non- Minnesotans can take the online permit to carry course in their own state and simply come to Minnesota for two hour range evaluation and application at the sheriff’s office. Pro Carry USA is thrilled that the launch of our permit to carry online course went off so well! If you are interested in looking at our Minnesota online permit to carry course click here or if you would like to hear our interview with Mark be sure to click into the link below!

Concealed Carry or Permit to Carry? |

We are often asked if we offer concealed carry courses. While we do teach people to conceal and carry a pistol, we technically call it "Permit to Carry" because that is the name that the Minnesota Department of Public Safety gave it. Thus, in Minnesota, you do not get a "concealed carry permit" but rather a "Permit to Carry."
So you ask: "Why is it not called a concealed carry permit?" Well, the answer is actually quite simple. It is not called a concealed carry permit because you don't need to carry your handgun concealed. In Minnesota, you can carry either open or concealed. Open carry has its advantages, though most people choose to carry concealed. It would sound really awkward to have a "Concealed or Open Carry Permit." That's why it is simply called a Permit to Carry.
Notice that it is not a license. Some states, such as Florida, call theirs a license. In Florida, you also cannot carry open. You must carry concealed. In Utah, it is called a Concealed Firearms Permit or CFP. In Utah, you do not need a Concealed Firearms Permit to carry open, as long as your handgun is statutorily unloaded. Utah law says that a gun is unloaded if there is no round in the firing position. In Utah, if you have a loaded magazine in the magazine well, your gun is considered unloaded as long as there isn't a round in the chamber.
We hope you'll choose Pro Carry USA to help you obtain your Minnesota Permit to Carry. |

It began at least three generations ago. My grandfather fostered not only good character and ethics into his shooting hobby, but also used firearms in his service to our country in 1945 in Japan. His service was influential in three of his sons serving in the US Armed Forces. My father introduced me to firearms before I was old enough to remember.
Holding the truths and freedoms loved by our forefathers is one of the goals of Procarry USA. With a baby boy on the way, we needed to prepare to protect ourselves and preserve our freedom for our children. After that event, we obtained our Permit to Carry and began to protect ourselves. A few months later, it occurred to me that with a strong background in firearms, I should look into NRA Certification and teaching the Minnesota Permit to Carry. Yes! I needed to pass along my knowledge to do my part in preserving freedom! A right not exercised is a right lost! |
